Typical Daily Schedule
| 7:00 a.m.
|The children meet in one classroom as parents drop their children off for the day. Activities such as easel painting, coloring, block building, dramatic play, computer games, reading and other creative exploration are provided for the early children.|
| 8:45 a.m.
|Children are still arriving as the group assembles together for a story, music or finger play, and children are prepared for the day's schedule.|
| 9:00 a.m.
| The children are brought outside where they
enjoy unlimited play with the sand box, climbing structures, tricycles,
coupe cars, play houses, slides and they are given an opportunity to work in
our school garden.
| 9:45 a.m.
| Children are separated into their
age-appropriate classrooms and are given a morning snack.
|10:00 a.m. Group Time|| The children gather into a circle time
consisting of a discussion of the calendar and weather, a story either
chosen by the teacher or children, theme-related material, and/or movement
and music activities.
|Activity Time|| Theme-based activities of art science, creative crafts,
cooking, and free exploration in the reading, dramatic play, manipulative and
block areas are provided in a busy, yet calming atmosphere.
|Clean Up Time||The children participate with the teacher in returning play items to their proper places and preparing the class for lunch and nap time.|
| 11:15 a.m.
|The children return outside to play before lunch.|
| 11:45 a.m.
|The children line up and go to their individual classrooms where they wash their hands and clean up before lunch. Prior to eating, the children sing a song together.|
| 12:30 p.m.
|Children take this time to prepare for nap. They clean their face and hands and use the bathroom prior to resting on their cots. The children are required to remain quiet, as most children are trying to fall asleep.|
| 1:00 p.m.
|During this time the children sleep. Those who do not sleep will be given quiet activities or books to occupy their time while other children sleep.|
| 2:00 p.m.
|Between 2:00 and 3:00 p.m. the children are allowed to wake up on their own. Those who are awake go outside with some teachers, while the others are allowed to sleep.|
| 3:00 p.m.
|All children are awake and play as a group outside. Children begin to go home.|
| 4:15 p.m.
|An afternoon snack is provided to the children. This may either be outside with the large group or inside in the individual classrooms.|
| 4:30 p.m.
|The children are divided into multi-age groups and are moved into classrooms. The number of groups depends on the amount of children currently present. As in the morning, a variety of activities and free exploration are provided.|
| 5:30 p.m.
|The children clean up the classrooms as the remaining children are brought into one class.|
| 6:00 p.m.
|The Children's Place closes it doors. All children are expected to be picked up by 6:00 p.m. Hefty fines are assessed to those parents who do not comply.|
